A heat pump moves heat instead of creating it, like a fridge in reverse, so it uses far less energy than old electric or gas systems. The Victorian Government estimates switching from gas hot water to an efficient electric heat pump can save a typical household around $400 a year. Your actual savings depend on your usage, tariff and system.

The Victorian Energy Upgrades program recommends sizing by the number of bedrooms, because the number of people in a home changes over time. Too small and you run out of hot water; too large and it costs more to buy and run. Here’s the official guide, and we confirm the ideal size for your household at your assessment.

The system, meter and proposed spot confirm pipe and cable runs, valves, drainage and whether the unit fits where you’d like it.

Yes. They work like a fridge in reverse and keep running on cold mornings, Melbourne’s winter temperatures sit well within their operating range. The tank also stores hot water for when you need it.
The Victorian Government describes heat pump noise as comparable to an air conditioner, some models are quieter than others, and it’s installed outdoors. During your assessment we check the distance from bedrooms and neighbours before recommending a location.
A heat pump uses far less energy than old electric or gas systems, so most households see lower hot water running costs. The Victorian Government estimates around $400 a year switching from gas. Your result depends on usage and tariff.
No, a heat pump runs on normal electricity. If you have solar, timing the unit to run during the day can lower costs further.

An adult aged 18 or over must be present for the whole installation, our installers are required to leave otherwise. We’ll book a time that works for you.

The VEU discount can apply to rental properties with the owner’s consent. The Solar Victoria hot water rebate is for owner-occupiers. We’ll help you work out which applies.
Solar Victoria’s hot water rebate is income-tested (under $150,000 combined). Even if you’re over it, the federal STC and VEU pathways aren’t income-tested, so an upgrade can still be very affordable.
Yes. We install the Econova 330L and other approved models such as Emerald, PowerBay and NeoPower, and can quote other brands on request, all must be on the relevant product registers.
Not if it’s sized right. VEU guidance sizes by bedrooms, 150-225L for 1-2, 225-300L for 3, and more than 300L for 4 or more. Our Econova 330L suits most homes; see the sizing guide and we’ll confirm the ideal size at your assessment.
Typically well over a decade with basic care, comparable to or better than the systems they replace.
Very little, an occasional check of the unit and valves. We’ll explain simple upkeep on install day.
Some do. A booster can speed up heating and help in cold weather, but it can add to running costs. We’ll recommend a model and settings suited to your climate and how you use hot water.
So a licensed electrician can spot any required upgrades before quoting, rather than surprising you on the day. It’s how we keep the price fixed.
Outside. Heat pumps need free-flowing outdoor air to work, and outdoor installation is the compliant setup for the systems we install.
No. Rebates and discounts depend on your eligibility, property eligibility, approved products, documentation and current program rules. We confirm your pathway before you commit.
Never. Cold-calling and door-knocking are banned under the VEU program and we strictly comply. We only contact people who ask us to. If someone knocks or cold-calls claiming to be us, it isn’t us, please tell us.
STCs are a federal certificate discount; VEU is a Victorian program discount applied through an accredited provider; Solar Victoria is a state rebate for eligible owner-occupiers. Some homes qualify for more than one.

A small deposit secures your install. It’s fully refundable until your install is scheduled, and, if you’re claiming the Solar Victoria rebate, until your eligibility is confirmed.
We safely disconnect and cap the old gas hot water connection and install the heat pump outdoors. From 1 March 2027, failed gas hot water systems in existing Victorian homes generally must be replaced with electric, so many people switch ahead of time.
We disconnect, remove and dispose of it as part of a standard installation.
